Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly am I buying? A license or the font itself?

You are purchasing a license, a legal permission to use the font in specific ways. The typeface design and font files always remain the intellectual property of Locomotype. The license defines where and how you can use the font (desktop, web, app, etc.).

Which license type do I need?
  • Desktop — installing on computers and using in design software (logos, print, merchandise, social media).
  • Web Font — embedding the font on a website as live, selectable text via CSS.
  • ePub — using the font in e-books, digital magazines, or interactive PDFs.
  • Digital Ads — HTML5 banners and dynamic ads served on third-party sites.
  • App — embedding inside a mobile or desktop application.

Can I buy multiple licenses at once and get a discount?

Yes and we encourage it.

Select multiple license types in a single order and a bundle discount is applied automatically:
2 licenses: 10% off  ·  3 licenses: 15% off  ·  4+: 20% off

The discount is calculated on the combined total of all selected licenses.

What is the difference between individual styles and complete family?

Individual styles let you buy only the specific weights or variants you need (e.g. Regular, Bold, Light Italic). You pay per style selected.

Complete Family covers all available styles at a special flat rate, not a simple multiplication, so it’s usually better value when you need many weights.

How will I receive my font files?

Immediately after payment, download links are sent to your email and are also available in My Account → Downloads. Each ZIP contains OTF, TTF, WOFF, and WOFF2 files, plus the license agreement (EULA).

You receive files only for the styles you purchased. Links are active for 30 days with up to 5 downloads per file. Contact us if you need to re-download after this period.

Can I use one license for multiple projects?

Yes. Locomotype licenses are not project-based — they cover ongoing use within the scope and tier you purchased. A Desktop 1–5 Users license, for example, lets those users use the font across all their design projects indefinitely.

What is your refund policy?

All sales are final. Because font files are delivered digitally and immediately, we do not offer refunds once a download is available.

We will replace or refund if the files are technically defective or if your order was not fulfilled due to an error on our side. Contact us within 14 days with your order number. Please review specimens and license details carefully before purchasing.

I need a license for case not listed. Can you help?

Yes. We offer custom and extended licenses for broadcast, film, merchandise, logo trademark registration, and other cases. Contact us and we will put together the right arrangement for you.
