Locomotype is an independent type foundry based in Indonesia, operating at locomotype.com (“we”, “us”, “Locomotype”). We design and sell digital font software under license to individuals and organizations worldwide.

2. Scope of These Terms

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern all purchases made through locomotype.com and apply to the sale of digital font software licenses. They form a binding agreement between you (the buyer) and Locomotype.

The font license itself — what you may and may not do with the font after purchase — is governed by the Locomotype End User License Agreement (EULA), which is included in every download package. These Terms cover the commercial transaction: ordering, payment, delivery, and related matters.

3. Products and Licenses

All products sold on locomotype.com are digital font software licenses. You are purchasing a license to use the font software, not ownership of the font itself. The typeface designs and font files remain the intellectual property of Locomotype.

License types available: Desktop, Web Font, ePub, Digital Ads, and App. Each has its own scope and usage tiers. The license type(s) and tier(s) you purchase are specified at checkout and confirmed on your order invoice.

Complete Family packages cover all styles of a font family. Individual style licenses cover only the specific styles selected at checkout.

Upgrade policy: If your usage grows beyond your purchased tier, you must purchase an upgrade. Contact us to arrange an upgrade at any time.

4. Ordering and Contract Formation

By completing checkout, you make an offer to purchase a font license under these Terms. A binding contract is formed when we confirm your order by email and process your payment successfully.

Prices shown on the site are in US Dollars (USD) unless otherwise indicated, and are exclusive of any taxes or duties that may apply in your jurisdiction (see Section 7). We reserve the right to correct pricing errors before confirming any order.

Bundle discounts are applied automatically at checkout when multiple license types are purchased for the same font family in a single order. The discount rate is shown transparently before payment.

5. Payment

We accept payment by:

• Credit card and debit card (Visa, Mastercard, and other major cards)
• PayPal

Payment is processed securely by our payment partners. Locomotype does not store your card details. Payment must be completed in full before download access is granted.

For international buyers: your bank or PayPal may apply currency conversion fees or foreign transaction charges. These are your responsibility and are not controlled by Locomotype.

6. Delivery of Digital Files

Font files are delivered digitally. After successful payment, download links are made available on your order confirmation page and in your order confirmation email, and remain accessible via your account at locomotype.com under My Account → Downloads.

Download links are active for 30 days from the date of purchase and are limited to 5 downloads per file. If you need to re-download after this period, please contact us.

Each download package contains:

• Font files in OTF, TTF, WOFF, and WOFF2 formats
• A copy of the Locomotype End User License Agreement (EULA)

You will receive the files corresponding to the styles and license type(s) you purchased. Complete Family purchases receive all styles of the family in a single package.

Delivery issues: If you do not receive your download links within 1 hour of a successful payment, please check your spam/junk folder first, then contact us at hello@locomotype.com.

7. Taxes and Duties

Prices displayed on locomotype.com do not include taxes unless explicitly stated. You are responsible for any applicable taxes, VAT, GST, or import duties in your country or region.

Buyers in the European Union: digital goods may be subject to VAT in your member state. As a small independent seller, Locomotype may not be required to collect EU VAT. You may be responsible for self-assessing and remitting VAT under your local rules. If you require a VAT invoice, contact us.

Indonesian buyers: applicable local taxes may apply in accordance with Indonesian tax law.

8. No-Refund Policy

Exceptions — we will provide a replacement or refund if:

• The font files you received are corrupt or technically defective and we are unable to provide a working replacement within a reasonable time.
• You were charged for an order that was not fulfilled (no download access was granted) due to a technical error on our side.

To request an exception, contact us at hello@locomotype.com within 14 days of purchase with your order number and a description of the issue.

We do not offer refunds because you changed your mind, purchased the wrong license type, or no longer need the font. Please review the license types and check free trials or specimen PDFs before purchasing.

9. Font License and Permitted Use

Your permitted use of the font files is governed exclusively by the Locomotype End User License Agreement (EULA) included in your download package. Please read it carefully.

In summary (not a substitute for the full EULA): you receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the font for the specific purposes and within the usage tier you purchased. You may not redistribute, sublicense, or resell the font files.

If you are uncertain which license type applies to your intended use, contact us before purchasing.

10. Intellectual Property

All font software, typeface designs, graphics, and content on locomotype.com are the property of Locomotype and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership to you.

You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute the font software beyond what is permitted by your license. Unauthorized use of our font software is a violation of these Terms and applicable copyright law.

11. Your Account

You may be required to create an account to access your downloads via My Account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.

Do not share your account or your download links with others. Download links are issued for your personal or organizational use only, consistent with your purchased license.

12. Privacy

We collect and process personal data (name, email address, payment information, and transaction details) solely to process your order, deliver your files, and provide customer support. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

Payment data is processed by our payment partners (card processors and PayPal) and is not stored by Locomotype. For full details, see our Privacy Policy at locomotype.com/privacy.

By placing an order, you consent to your data being used as described above and in our Privacy Policy.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Locomotype’s liability arising out of or in connection with any purchase shall not exceed the amount you paid for the relevant order.

Locomotype is not liable for: any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage; loss of profits or business; damage arising from your use of the font in your own projects; or any technical incompatibility between the font files and your software or operating system.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability for fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence.

14. Warranties

The font software is provided “as is”. Locomotype warrants that font files will be free from material technical defects at the time of delivery. If a defect is found, our obligation is limited to providing a corrected file.

We do not warrant that the font files will be compatible with all software, operating systems, or environments; or that they will meet your specific design requirements.

15. Changes to These Terms

Locomotype may update these Terms from time to time. The version in effect at the time of your order is the version that governs that transaction. Continued use of the site after updated Terms are posted constitutes acceptance of the new Terms for future purchases.

Material changes will be announced on locomotype.com. We recommend checking this page periodically.

16. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Indonesia, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.

Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved amicably through direct communication. If unresolved, disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts in Indonesia.

For international buyers: while Indonesian law governs these Terms, we will always try to resolve issues fairly and directly before any formal process.
